Who I Am
I am a junior in high school who I think has had a different life than most. I’m the youngest
and the only girl in my family. I’ve been thinking about what I want to be when I get older since I
was about five years old, and I’ve been driven ever since. At first, I wanted to be a teacher, but
now I’ve come to the thought of either a doctor or lawyer. I’ve been to places which I could only
dream of living and that’s what keeps me going. I have several goals, but my main ones are to
make a good amount of money every year when I get older, have a family, and to try to travel all
over world.
I spend a lot my time working out, studying for school, and just enjoying life at my age. In
the spring, my brother plays D1 baseball and while all my friends are at turnabout having a good
time; I’m out traveling with my family to support him. I’m gone a ton of weekends traveling back
and forth to his college and then there's volleyball during the week. During that time, it can
get a little hectic but I’ve learned to time everything well, so I never fall behind.
I’ve realized recently that there are just so many places in the world that I’ve never seen and
all I want to do is visit them. Another thing that drives me to do well in my life is traveling. I love
to travel and want to go to as many places as possible before I die, but I know that takes a ton of
money. I’ve been to a ton of places in the United States, including Alaska, but I’ve never been out
of the country. I have two places that I want to visit before I die. One place is Bora Bora, which is
a little island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and the other place is Europe. Traveling can teach
me so many things, such as how lucky I am or it could show me how different peoples' lifestyles
are and just getting used to different customs.
I’m the kind of person who could get used to anything if you just tell me what to do. I could
live anywhere, and I could get used to different traditions. I know that when it comes to different
places to visit I’ll have to get comfortable with the area that I’m in or else it’s kind of a waste. I try
to prepare myself for every kind of possibility there is so I’m never disappointed. Another thing
that makes me different is that, in the kind of town that Glenview is, I believe that there's a group of
people who expect this glorious lifestyle but don't realize what really is going on in the world and
I'm not one of those people. I read articles, I watch the news, and I believe that the kids my age
who don't do either of those things are very close minded and don't really care.
